AW16 Knitwear: A day out in Whitstable

4 October 2016

Mythical Mermen, volcanoes and stormy seas all feature in this year’s collection of sweaters and accessories. The distinctive yolk sweaters are inspired by fables from the sea, frequent trips to Iceland and Donna’s native countryside.

‘Having a family connection to Iceland has meant I’ve been lucky enough to go on a few tours of the island. I love the vastness and the incredible nature, rock formations, lava as well as the friendly folk with their tales of trolls that have been turned to stone. For the collection I wanted to introduce some of our more recognisable motifs as well as adding a bit of folklore and Icelandic influences into the mix.’

This is the third fashion collection by Donna Wilson. The Wise Cat Man sweater is a firm favourite, and the Fox In Flowers long sweater depicts one of Donna’s trademark knitted creatures Cyril Squirrel Fox. For our AW16 lookbook we took a trip down to the beautiful and idyllic English seaside town of Whitstable. You can shop our new collection of cosy lambswool sweaters here.
