This is a slight second as there are some irregular dye marks – see additional images.
We’ve always used natural yarns to knit our sweaters, but this year we’ve harnessed the power of plants to add natural colour to our lambswool Basket Weave Sweaters.
Made by boiling the leaves of the indigo plant, indigo dye yields a range of beautiful blues, including this light hue.
Each sweater is individually dyed by hand using traditional techniques, a much more sustainable alternative to using modern, synthetic dyes and processes. For this reason, there may be slight variations in colour, however we think this makes each one even more special.
The Basket Weave Sweater is a slightly cropped style with a slash neck.
Large fits UK size 12-14. See Sizing tab for measurements.
A little shrinkage can occur during the dyeing process, we suggest sizing up, particularly if you prefer a roomier fit.
100% lambswool, knitted in Portugal and dyed by hand in London.
Our natural dyed sweaters need a little extra love and attention when washing. Please read our tips in the Care tab!

Botanical colours are made with cultivated and wild dye plants, picked by hand and then used to hand dye jumpers individually, so each jumper is unique. Their colours will last well with a little tender loving care, just as you would with any beautiful, delicate knitwear.
Here are a few tips to keep your plant dyed sweater in tip-top shape:
When not being worn, store your jumper in a drawer or wardrobe out of sunlight to avoid any fading.
Cold hand wash separately using a wool / delicates laundry detergent and gentle conditioner. Dry flat and out of direct sunlight.
For the initial few wears there may be some colour rub off, so be careful to not to wear with anything pale or precious. Or better still, give it a gentle hand wash before wearing for the first time to be sure. Some dye may remain from the process and this will run off. Don’t be alarmed, as after the first few washes it will then be stable. Use rubber gloves for the first couple of washes to avoid staining your nails.
Never dry clean as this will ruin the colours.
With a little care, the colours will last for decades. They may grow a little paler in time, but will remain the same beautiful natural shades.
