Abstract Assembly – London Design Festival 2019

Abstract Assembly_header

Donna Wilson will be premiering a new sculptural body of work produced in collaboration with SCP as part of this year’s London Design Festival.

Abstract Assembly will be shown as part of SCP’s programme of exhibitions titled The Landscape of Symbols, which seeks to explore our relationship with the unmade world that surrounds us and how it influences the objects we make and use.

The collection comprises of eight timber pieces – a bench, three chairs and four mirrors – fashioned from oak and beech offcuts, as well as Donna’s favourite timber, Douglas fir. Each design is a three-dimensional interpretation of Donna’s abstract watercolour paintings, manufactured in collaboration with Jon Almond of Produce the Goods and SCP. Available in a limited run of just ten pieces, each edition will be uniquely painted in different colours by Donna.

You can view the whole Abstract Assembly Collection here.

Read the Elle Decoration article on Abstract Assembly here, and visit SCP’s The Landscape of Symbols show in their Shoreditch shop at 135 Curtain Road, London, until 22nd September.
